Adoption of new name “more clearly reflects the mission and broad range of stakeholders we serve” according to Sean Doordan, President of CREDA Maryland, the local chapter serving nearly 400 members.
BALTIMORE, MD (July 1, 2026) — NAIOP, the leading association for commercial real estate developers, owners, investors and related professionals with more than 55 chapters in North America, today announced that it is now called the Commercial Real Estate Development Association, a new name that builds on the association’s longstanding industry leadership while positioning it for the future. The Maryland Chapter — comprised of nearly 400 members working for commercial real estate development companies, brokerage and law firms, architectural and interior designer groups, and other entities serving the industry — is now known as CREDA Maryland – The Commercial Real Estate Development Association.

Founded in 1985, CREDA Maryland serves the interests of members and member companies primarily located in Anne Arundel, Baltimore, Carroll County, Harford, and Howard counties, as well as Baltimore City. Its sister organization, CREDA DC|MD, represents companies and professionals in Montgomery and Prince George’s counties, as well as Washington, D.C.
Commercial Real Estate Development Association better identifies the breadth of its members’ work and the full scope of commercial real estate development they represent. “While our name is changing, our mission remains the same: advancing commercial real estate development through advocacy, research, education and connections that help our members succeed and strengthen the commercial real estate industry,” said Celeste Tanner, 2026 CREDA association chair and president/chief development officer of Confluent Development.
