A major campus transformation at Roland Park Country School reshaped how students learn, gather and collaborate, delivering 37,000 square feet of reimagined classrooms, arts spaces and student gathering areas.

The project was completed during a compressed summer construction schedule in 2025, while much of the campus remained active with summer programs.

Developed by Knott Realty Group, the project included 11 coordinated phases that touched nearly every aspect of campus life. An underutilized rowing tank became a flexible multi-purpose room, another gathering space was converted into a new dance studio, and a mezzanine was added to the library to create advanced classrooms equipped with Bloomberg terminals.

The improvements also included renovations to 18 lower school classrooms, upgrades to PreK spaces, a redesigned theater and multi-purpose room, refreshed middle school corridors, new student gathering areas, and campus-wide improvements including lighting, finishes, audiovisual technology, millwork and furniture.

Delivering a project of this size in a single summer required careful coordination among the team, which included the Whiting-Turner Contracting Company, Hord Coplan Macht and James Posey Associates, Inc. The team navigated active campus operations, permitting, supply chain challenges and unforeseen structural and plumbing issues while keeping the project on schedule.

“Given the constraints we were working with, especially the tight summer timeline, the amount of work our team was able to pull off in that window is genuinely impressive,” said Antonio Cruz, Vice President of Construction for Knott Realty Group.
